"That Creeping Feeling"
By Ele Nichols
featuring The Secretary / Penelope Mcquillen

Have you ever been out in the world and had that feeling you were being watched? It's an unexplainable sensation, a sixth sense if you will. More often than not, we just ignore it. What if though it's a early warning system to alert us of trouble?

This is directly pulled from the series of stories I've been writing, "Cohorts." The story follows The Bowler and Eliza Dimes Dixon as they try to locate and stop the worlds worst criminals and murderers. They are accompanied by Penelope here who helps with some of the behind the scenes work.

In this image, she's on her way home and has that feeling of being watched. She doesn't know why or by whom, but her senses try to calmly come to grips with it.

This was also an exciting artistic opportunity to explore their world, which of course is London. I choose this location because it's definitely a finger print of where they are on the globe. It was one of those rare occasions to be exceeding British with the piece.

I choose to be subtle with the message in this one and enhance the imagery more. The first image of Penelope, she's being choked by a phone cord by an non-existent opponent. This is the other end of that spectrum where the evil is implied. Is she a perpetual damsel in distress? I can make it seem that way, can't I? In these select moments, yes...sort of. She's the Yen to Eliza's Yang.

I hope you enjoy this image! It was so relieving to finally finish, lots and lots of small details went into this, which I'm very proud of. Big Ben took well over a couple days in itself. Gothic architecture if NOT easy to reproduce. Thanks again everyone for taking a moment to peep this out!

Exclusively Yours,
Ele Nichols
